Each summer Gaining Ground Farm offers intern positions. Through these we aim to give aspiring farmers a way to develop hands-on experience and education in all aspects of a farm operation as well as keep a fresh set of eyes on what we do. This partnership is central to the success of this small farm. Our summer interns take part in all aspects of farm operations from greenhouse and field work, to participating in delivery and farmers markets, event planning, food preservation, construction, farm systems building, crop research, accounting and record keeping. This is an opportunity to learn about farming, food politics, animal husbandry, the victories and challenges of running a small business, how to build relationships with customers and innumerable skills related to living a sustainable lifestyle.

The internship runs from May - October. Room/board and compensation are provided.
